PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma
What is PRP?
PRP is a form of cosmetic injectable treatment that uses the client's own platelet rich plasma. The plasma component contains white blood cells and growth rich platelets. When injected back into the skin, it accelerates the body's natural production of collagen and elastin to provide overall skin rejuvenation. This initiates a stem cell response, aiding in skin to repair and rejuvenate hair.
What is the process of PRP?

STEP 1: Blood from your arm is drawn, in the same way you would have a regular blood test.
STEP 2: The drawn blood is placed in a centrifuge for 5 to 10 minutes. This process separates the platelets from the blood.

STEP 3: The platelet rich plasma is activated in a special process to release essential growth factors just before injection to enhance its healing properties.
STEP 4: Ready-to-use PRP is recovered into a syringe and can now be re-injected into the skin with the aid of skin needling or subcutaneous injections.

What to expect?
To maximise results, we recommend a series of treatments (normally 4-6 treatments) spaced six to eight weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required every six to twelve months.
Please remember that patients may have different concerns and requirements. We may personalise your treatment plans accordingly and results may vary between candidates as your own blood and your body’s growth factors are used for rejuvenation and regeneration.
Results may last up to a year. First visible results seen after initial treatments are around 6 weeks after your initial treatment. Long term effects may take around 3 months to take effect, these include collagen production enhanced skin quality, skin elasticity and skin tone. The hair growth cycle takes about 90 days, for this reason results may not show immediately but are often visible within 2 months with more dramatic results visible in 5-8 months
As PRP involves a series of tiny injections there is always post-treatment swelling that can last for several days. Bruising is also a common side effect, however is usually quite superficial and resolves in 7-10 days.
